Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi National Park

After an early morning breakfast at your respective hotel in Kampala, drive to southwestern Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park about 8-10 hours. Drive from Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara-Kabale/Kisoro with a stopover at Equator crossing in Kayabwe for photo taking and relaxation. Proceed to Agip Motel or Igongo Cultural Centre to have lunch. Drive via Ishasha sector and get a chance to catch a glimpse at the tree climbing lions then continue through Kihihi-Butogota town to Buhoma sector or lodge near a respective trailhead as per your gorilla permit. Gorilla treks in Bwindi National Park begin in Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park

Begin the day with an early breakfast and after, head off to Bwindi National Park headquarters to join other visitors for briefing on the set gorilla trekking rules and regulations. You will be assigned to 1 habituated gorilla family to trek in a group of 8 visitors and be accompanied by 1 park ranger guide. After, you hit the jungles you’re your packed lunch and bottled water. The trek may take you about 2 to 6 hours and you have an hour to have a face to face encounter with these remarkable creatures, take as many photos as possible, explore their behaviors. Later, return to the lodge to have rest, and in the evening, take a walk to Batwa or Bakiga community for cultural encounter.

Day 3: Drive back to Kampala/Entebbe

Enjoy Uganda’s tasty tea or coffee and after, drive back to Kampala/Entebbe via Mbarara. Make a stopover at Mpambire drum makers to purchase some crafts and in Mbarara for lunch before proceeding to Kampala or Entebbe Airport for your scheduled flight.
