All this tribes have very different cultural values and beliefs, the mubako communities are located near Murchison falls national park plains and live in grass thatched huts they normally perform at different lodges campfires in the eve or at their respective villages while the Boomu women’s group is one of the local groups one should visit during their trip to Murchison falls national park, the Boomu women’s group was formed by a number of forty village women in order to improve on their standards of living and generate money for paying their children’s school fees

The Boomu women’s group also own a camp and offer budget accommodation to travelers, they make a variety of African locally made crafts like baskets, mats, black Smith and many more and also perform many cultural dances, the women can also teach you how to make your on materials on request as well as have cooking lessons.

Mubako Cultural Experience in Murchison Falls and Campfire Performances

The remote community of Mubako is located beside the sprawling savannah of Murchison Falls National Park. The village is a cluster of traditional thatched huts around a clearing, where villagers gather to escape the midday sun under the shade of a large tree.
Mubako’s small craft shop sells carved wooden sculptures and handwoven items made by community members. At dusk, the local cultural groups perform vibrant songs and dances around the campfires of local lodges, accompanied by the beautiful sound of the adungu. Originating from this region, this instrument is made of cowhide and twine, and the harmonies of the various-sized adungus against the backdrop of a Nile sunset are magical.

There are few economic opportunities in this region and the climate makes farming hard, but with the money generated through tourism, the community can buy produce from local markets, pay school fees and support a nursery for 90 children.

Tourists can also have thrilling performances from the Alur tribe, they use a locally made guitar for producing sound the guitar is made of cowhide and twine, tourists can interact with the villagers and learn about different ways of lives and also acquire gifts to take back home from the local craft shops.
